Introduction
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), also called sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or venereal diseases, are contagious infections caused by pathogens (bacteria, virus, parasite) and are characterized by transmission from person to person through sexual activity and intimate contact.
Neisseria Gonorrhoeae (N. gonorrhoeae) is the main bacterial pathogen lead to gonorrhoea. Chlamydia trachomatis (C. trachomatis) is a bacterium that causes chlamydia. Ureaplasma urealyticum (U. urealyticum) is a genital mycoplasma that produces the infection within the genital tract. They are common pathogens of STDs.
The Bioperfectus Technologies Neisseria Gonorrhoeae/Chlamydia Trachomatis/ U. urealyticum Real-Time PCR Kit is an in vitro diagnostic test, based on real-time PCR technology, for the detection of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, and Ureaplasma urealyticum nucleic acids. Samples can be obtained from the urogenital swab and cervical scrapes.
